JAMAICA’S GANJA HERO
Peter Tosh became known as Jamaica’s Ganja Hero for making cannabis legalization part of his lifelong fight for freedom, justice, and Rastafari culture. Through songs like Legalize It, he challenged laws that criminalized ganja and used his global platform to demand change decades before reform became mainstream.
That message connects naturally to Jamaica’s National Heroes Day, which honors those who stood against oppression and fought for Jamaican freedom and identity. While Tosh is not an official National Hero, his fearless activism and refusal to stay silent place his legacy firmly within that same spirit of resistance and cultural pride.

The Peter Tosh Foundation
The Peter Tosh Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of Peter Tosh by empowering communities, supporting youth, promoting education, and advancing social and environmental justice. Rooted in the values of equality, freedom, and unity, we work to create lasting change and a brighter future for generations to come.

Negril, Jamaica, is a fitting home for Peter Tosh’s Earthstrong celebration. Known for its deep roots in reggae culture, laid-back spirit, and connection to Jamaica’s creative history, Negril brings together the music, community, and natural beauty that reflect the world Tosh came from and helped shape.
Set against the backdrop of Jamaica’s west coast, the celebration becomes more than a tribute. It is a gathering in the place where the culture behind the music is still alive, bringing fans, artists, and community together to honor Peter Tosh’s life, message, and lasting impact.
